Read this before comparing the numbers. Their own site also lists an Enterprise tier at $399/mo billed yearly for 5,000+ products, marked invite-only. It does not appear among the buyable plans on the App Store listing, so we quote what a merchant can actually sign up for.
For reference, ours: Operator is $79 a month for 15,000 products, tax exclusive. The full table is on the pricing page. Units differ between vendors — read what a plan counts, not just what it costs.
What Importier does better
This section is first on purpose. If any of it is what you need, the rest of the page is beside the point.
- It installs into the store and imports directly, so there is no file to download and upload. If you want the products created for you rather than a file handed to you, that is a real difference and it is in their favour.
- It handles marketplace sources — Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Walmart, Etsy — which we do not touch at all.
- Being a Shopify app means billing through Shopify, which some merchants strongly prefer.
Where the jobs actually differ
- They count a product against the monthly quota whether it was imported or just had a description written. We sell catalogue volume, so the units are not comparable line for line — read the quota, not the price.
- They import. We validate before an import happens, name the rows that will break it, and hand back a file. A product that writes into the store has no equivalent of a Pre-Flight Report because by the time it could show you one, it has already written.
- We publish which fields were invented and which were abstained from. We have not found an equivalent disclosure in their product.
Pick Importier if…
If your catalogue fits inside 1,000 products a month, you want the products created in the store for you rather than a file to check, and you are on Shopify only.
We would rather say that here than have you find it out after paying us. Under about a hundred products, incidentally, none of this matters and a chat window will do — the pricing page says so too.
The thing we do that none of these do
We run before the import, against the target grammar, and name the rows that will break it — including the failures that produce no error message at all, which is most of the dangerous ones. Two products whose handles collide become one product, silently, under a banner reporting success.
And every field we generate is marked: supplied by your file, inferred by us, or abstained from with a reason. A field we could not resolve comes back blank rather than plausible.
Whether that is worth anything depends entirely on whether your supplier files are a mess. If they are clean, we are an expensive way to solve a problem you do not have.
