Read this before comparing the numbers. Their limits are per job rather than per month, and they cover many record types beyond products — orders, customers, collections, discounts, redirects and translations each have their own per-job limit.
For reference, ours: Operator is $79 a month for 15,000 products, tax exclusive. The full table is on the pricing page. Units differ between vendors — read what a plan counts, not just what it costs.
What Matrixify does better
This section is first on purpose. If any of it is what you need, the rest of the page is beside the point.
- It is far broader than us and always will be. Orders, customers, collections, discounts, redirects, translations — we do products and nothing else.
- It is deeply established, heavily reviewed and has been maintained for years. That is a real answer to "will this still exist in six months", and we cannot match it yet.
- It updates products already in the store, which we deliberately do not do.
- At $50 for 50,000 products per job it is cheaper than us at volume.
Where the jobs actually differ
- Matrixify moves data extremely well. It is not trying to tell you, before you run anything, which rows of a messy supplier file will break the import and why — that is a different job, and it is the one we do.
- Its input is expected to be broadly in shape. Ours is expected to be a supplier file in whatever state it arrived, in whatever encoding, with whatever separators.
- Neither generation nor provenance is part of what it sells.
Pick Matrixify if…
If you need to move orders, customers or collections as well as products, or you are updating a catalogue that is already live in the store. For a lot of jobs Matrixify is simply the right tool and we would say so.
We would rather say that here than have you find it out after paying us. Under about a hundred products, incidentally, none of this matters and a chat window will do — the pricing page says so too.
The thing we do that none of these do
We run before the import, against the target grammar, and name the rows that will break it — including the failures that produce no error message at all, which is most of the dangerous ones. Two products whose handles collide become one product, silently, under a banner reporting success.
And every field we generate is marked: supplied by your file, inferred by us, or abstained from with a reason. A field we could not resolve comes back blank rather than plausible.
Whether that is worth anything depends entirely on whether your supplier files are a mess. If they are clean, we are an expensive way to solve a problem you do not have.
